The Ebor Singers

Acclaimed for performances and recordings that combine imaginative programming with performances of freshness and vitality, The Ebor Singers have earned a reputation as one of the most exciting vocal ensembles in Britain today.

This year, the Festival welcomes the York based singing group to perform our traditional Candlelight Concert in Hexham Abbey. They will perform their beautifully crafted programme ‘Dusk Songs’, the recording of which attracted the following reviews:

“A captivating, enthralling journey which delves deeply into the rich and broad heritage of sacred choral music, a quiet delight!” (Crossrythms)

“Stunning!” (Classic FM)

“An inspirational programme. The Ebor Singers are magnificent throughout. I can’t wait to hear more from this young group.” (Choir and Organ).

As well as their concert series held in York Minster and churches in the city centre, the choir performs at festivals around the UK and abroad, and has appeared on radio and TV. In the last two years it has performed in York’s Late and Early Music Festivals, on BBC Radio 3’s Early Music Show and BBC Radio 4’s Sunday Worship and the group is proud to be an associate choir of York Minster.

You can listen to the Ebor Singers’ beautiful rendition of O Lux Beata Trinitas, which they will sing at this concert here.
