Goldberg Variations

Thursday, 24 September; 7.30pm
Opening and closing with one of the most beautiful melodies ever written, and with 32 stunning variations in between, Goldberg Variations is an hour of absorbing, dazzling, moving, stunning, exciting, and astonishing music. Bach wrote nothing else like it, and to this day it is a landmark in any keyboard player’s career. Pianist Danny Driver’s playing has been called ‘full of insight and exuberance’ [The Guardian], ‘…expressive (and, at the end, thunderous). I think we all felt that we had been taken on a long, varied and endlessly fascinating journey to get there.‘ [Seen & Heard International] These variations are just such a journey – unmissable.
£25 adults / £5 aged 21 and under (unreserved)
Concert takes place in the Nave and lasts approx 75 minutes, no interval – remember your cushion!
