  • Monday – Clare Tunny, soprano with Cecilia Coulet, piano

Born in Middlesbrough, Clare Tunney is

a Royal Academy of Music scholarship student where she studies with Kathleen Livingstone, Audrey Hyland and Ian Partridge. She began training as a classical singer in 2009 with teacher Miranda Wright in Durham. She has been a soprano soloist for many oratorio works and was part of the first Samling Academy Foundation in 2012 and again in 2013.

  • Friday – Michael Biggins, piano

Currently a pupil at Chethams School of Music, and previously at Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham, Michael Biggins studies with Graham Caskie, having previously studied with Eileen Bown and Jean Armstrong. Michael has performed at venues such as Sage Gateshead and The Bluthner Piano Centre in London, and travelled to Canada in February 2014 where he was pianist in residence to the local choir ‘Quay Voices’.
He has competed in many festivals and competitions across the region including the EPTA piano competition and the BBC young musician of the year, where he was amongst the top 30.
